IWSP – 102
Cement requires 15% – 20% moisture for its complete hydration. Generally water cement ratio of more than 0.5 is used. The excess water has deleterious effect. Bleeding and segregation effect concrete strength adversely.
IWSP–102 increases workability at reduced water cement ratio hence suppressing bleeding and segregation and its adverse effects.
Generally concrete is allowed to stand for 12-24 hours before it is water cured. In this time the surface region of concrete is totally depleted of moisture and develops network of cracks. Subsequently due to cyclic daily temperature changes these crevices extend up to other crevices or voids where release of stress stabilizes crack progress. This leads to continuous network of crevices and cavities, which reduces impermeability and strength of concrete. This concrete will exhibit leakage and will not be waterproof.
IWSP-102 ensures that loss of moisture in the surface region is restricted in the initial 12-24 hours, hence suppressing crack formation. As the hydration of cement progresses, its strength develops. After attainment of sufficient strength chances of crevices formation is eliminated. Due to absence of cracks and inter connected voids, the concrete treated with IWSP-102 will exhibit higher impermeability to water and hence will be completely waterproof. Due entrained air, plugging of capillary pores ensures concrete impermeability, also concrete exhibits higher strength; hence considerable saving in cement is possible.
IWSP-102 is honey coloured liquid which enhances concrete quality, improves cohesiveness, workability, and imparts high wetting characteristics hence eliminating segregation completely in thin & high lintels for basements & swimming pools, water tanks etc.
Mix cement and aggregates as usual. Add water keeping back five litres of water. To this water mix 150 – 200 ml IWSP-102 and add it to the mortar/ concrete. Mix thoroughly. Dosage of 150 ml- 200 ml is most effective.
IWSP-102 can be used for casting all kinds of concrete. It can be used for beams, columns, slabs, swimming pools, basements, aqueducts, storage bunkers. It is also found most successful for external plaster.
Presence of slit / mud in sand reduces concrete strength. Use of IWSP-102 ensures, against loss of strength, due to high silt/ mud in sand. Better cube strength consistency is observed if IWSP-102 is used.
