CRACK REPAIR IN CONCRETE | RAZON SUPER EPB 525

Cracks should be repaired as soon as possible after identification to prevent further deterioration which could lead to spalling of the concrete and ultimately collapse. Repairing the cracks early is a necessary safety & saves money in the long term.

Epoxy grouting is performed at cracks to maintain aggregate interlock and ensure a monolith; thus minimize the seperation/ relative movement due to thermal effects/ flexural stresses on concrete at the cracks. It is used at the cracks to keep the slabs from separating.

General steps followed to repair cracks in concrete are as follows:-

  1. Clean the surface of the crack using a wirebrush.
  2. At in angle to the slab drill holes of 14 mm dia upto a depth of 50% of the slab, in such a way that the packer intersects the crack.. Interdistance between the packer is approx 450 mm from each other. Insert packers of 13 mm dia and lock the packers by tightening it with a spanner.
  3. Mix Resin + Hardner of an epoxy putty namely- RAZON Bond 40 (1:1:: resin: hardner) and using this putty seal the nipple-concrete joint using RAZON Bond 40(Fast Set).
  4. Also use RAZON Bond 40 (1:1:: resin: hardner) to seal the groove with the help of a putty knife.
  5. Mix the components of SUPER EPB 525, low viscosity epoxy grout for injection  (Resin : Hardner :: 2 : 1 viz the proportions provided) and using a  grouting pump inject it into the crack’s central nozzle, till the grout oozes out from the adjacent nozzle.
  6. Next inject the grout from the next nozzle. Repeat till the end of the crack
  7. Cut off the packer & Finish the surface of the crack using a putty knife, and level it to the surroundings.
  8. Consume all mixed product within its Pot life. Allow 72 hours for it to cure.
  9. Immediately Clean all equipments, tools and surrounding concrete surface using soapy water
