For completing a road repair (pothole/ resurfacing) project, what you will need is the following:-

Project Instructions

Strextra EFS Can be applied from freezing temperatures to upto 45 Degrees Celcius and where humidity is <85% for atleast 30 minutes.

Step 1
Surface Preparation:

• Rigorously clean old concrete with mechanical equipment like a wire brush or better if you use a grinder with wire brush wheel to ensure proper adhesion of the new surface to the old concrete.
  NOTE: use a degreasing chemical must be used to remove any dirt, oil, grease or deteriorating concrete.
• Prepare deeply spalled areas like potholes, and repair large cracks with RAZON Super EPB 525.

Step 2
Mix the Strextra EFS using a bucket and a paddle mixer attachment on a drill machine (hand mixing and standard concrete barrel-type mixers cannot be used for this application).

TIP: it is important that control joints and expansion joints are maintained to allow for slab movement.

Step 3
Measure and add 3.3 litres of cool potable water to a bucket to mix one 30-kg bag of Strextra EFS (the strextra powder should be poured into the mixing water).

Step 4
Mix for about 60 seconds until a lump-free pourable consistency is achieved. If the mix is too thick, add water sparingly to reach the consistency of syrup; if the mix is too thin, additional powder can be added.

Step 5
Pour the Strextra EFS onto the concrete.

Step 6
Evenly spread the Strextra EFS back and forth onto the slab.

Step 7
Using a concrete broom provide surface roughness within 10 minutes of mixing.

TIP: make full broom strokes across the entire distance of the work area without stopping (all broom strokes should be made in the same direction for uniformity of appearance).

Step 10
Allow traffic over the area between 6-8 hours of mixing  and placing. NO CURING REQUIRED
