SPRMC R 244
Retarder SPRMC R 244 is a High Range Water Reducer – Super Plasticizer cum retarder admixture which retains the workability of concrete. Beside it is also a powerful plasticizer. This unique combination of retarder-cum-plasticizer does away with double admixture of retarder + plasticizer where both features are necessary.
SPRMC R 244 is a High Range Water Reducer Retarder Plasticizer essential for:
- Highly flow-able concreting, wherein large sections must be filled without the possibility for honeycombing. Besides SPRMC R 244 finds best application for high rib shear sections, wherein narrow sections must be pour filled by a cohesive mix to ensure a uniform fill between moulds.
- Ready mix concrete plants where long haulage of ready mix mortar is required. Besides retarding, SPRMC R 244 gives cohesive & uniform mix enhancing concrete rheology profoundly.
- Concrete in arid climate where temperatures above 400– 500 Celsius are encountered.
- For large duration of time between pouring and compaction, or when large volume of ready mix concrete is in process; to prevent cold joints.
- If impaction and vibration to concrete is intended to be transmitted via vibration to reinforced steel which reduce bond between shell and initially poured concrete.
- Combined features of retarder & plasticizer are found most useful to pump concrete over long distances.
- Retarder SPRMC R 244 disperses cement by electrostatic forces augmenting mechanical mixing ensuring speedy, uniform, cohesive & homogenous mix.
- SPRMC R 244 is powerful water reducer, which enhances concrete strength, & increases impermeability coefficient of concrete.
It is a tan colored liquid with specific gravity around 1.12, harmless to handle and long shelf life if stored in cool dry place.
Retarder SPRMC R 244 can be used with any kind of cement. However it is recommended that traffic and tests be carried out before use to establish input output parameters for design mixes. SPRMC R 244 is completely devoid of chlorides and hence has no deteriorating effect on reinforcements. It is considered as latest generation of improved RMC retarder. SPRMC R 244 is found to delay the onset of setting by + 2 hours.
Greater dosages may be used depending upon concrete design, water cement ratio, aggregates, setting time desired, required final strength, slump value requires etc. large retardation is
observed, if it is mixed with 1-2 Ltr of gauging water and added to the concrete mix few minutes after adding water.
SPRMC R 244 shows profound retardation in setting time of cement; enhances workability, possesses high wetting properties improves cohesion hence reduces segregation, increases ultimate strength, enhances concrete bonding to steel reinforcements. It is a boon to Ready Mix Concrete products.
