White Water Proofer is an excellent coating, which
forms a tough, durable, abrasion resistant film sealing hairline cracks &
forming uniformly impermeable barrier to water, hence a very effective water
proofing coating. Being white in colour, it has high reflectivity thus, prevents
the underlying surface from heating up. Ideal for terrace water proofing,
industrial buildings, hospitals, hotels, water proofing where air conditioning
electricity bills can be economized.
USES :
1.
Water
Proofing of terrace, parapet walls, chajjas etc.
2.
Forms
excellent coating for water proofing of china-mosaic terraces.
3.
On A.C. sheets, where cracks have been sealed with Crack Seal.
4.
On external surfaces for long lasting waterproof coating.
SURFACE PREPARATION AND
APPLICATION :
Clean
the surface thoroughly, remove completely previous treatment. The area to be
treated must be free of oil, grease, dust, loose particles etc. Preferably scrub
the surface with wire brush and wipe surface with a dry cloth. On clean, dry,
dust-free surface apply priming coat of Clear Water Proofer. Allow 12 hours
curing. [Priming with Clear Water Proofer is optional].
The
cracks must not be widened. However, thorough cleaning with wire brush is a
must. Seal cracks with Crack Seal, allow 24 hours for curing. Check these cracks
for shrinkage, in case of shrinkage apply another layer of Crack Seal &
level it to surrounding surface. Allow 24 hours curing.
Apply
first coat of White Water Proofer. Allow 8 hours curing. Apply second coat. For
the first coat if the brushing is across the length, for the second coat the
brushing must be across the breadth. Cross painting is found to give best
results. Ensure surface is dust-free when coating White Water Proofer. Mop the
surface with dry cloth just before coating.
For
dilution, if required use upto 5% Thinner-2. For cleaning hands and brushes use
mineral turpentine.
Universal
Strainers may be used to obtain desired shades. White Water Proofer is most
ideal for external walls. It is most suited for sloping roofs also. Coverage
50-70 sq. feet per litre depending on type of surface. Second coat always offers
greater coverage.
