WATER REPELLANT WBWR–2023, SBWR–5000

Due to cyclic temperature changes, in rough plasters, or plaster groved for aesthetic purpose small micro cracks allow water ingression in rainy season. This is most severe for walls facing rain and wind direction. In such cases it is practically impossible to treat individual crevices. Coat of cement paint does not help. Due to algae & fungal growth unpleasant black patches appear degrading life of cement paint.

In such cases our WBWR–2023 is most effective. It is used in proportion 1:1 to 1:2 with water. Generally 3 kgs cement paint is mixed with 3 ltrs of water. Use water / Repellent in proportion 1:1 or 1:2 with cement paint & apply this preparation as final coat. This coat should be applied last. Good cleaning or wire brush scrubbing will ensure longer life of coating.

In case the cement paint coat is fresh and the walls are intended to be treated with Repellant, then scrub surface well & coat one coat of cement paint with Repellent described above. If the wall seepage is severe, use richer proportion of Repellent in preparing cement paint, It is generally observed, with repellent the spreading capacity of cement paint is increased & 20% extra coverage is available. Seal all crevices with Crack Seal if large crevices are visible, alternatively try our Instaset–600, before coating the surface with Repellent.

It is recommended that Water Repellant be applied after coating surface with cement paint, and water curing surface as recommended by cement paint manufacturer. Use Repellent + Cement paint in the final coat only. Using Repellent / water in the proportion 1:1 or 1:2. Mix cement paint using Repellent & water, apply cement paint as usual, stir thoroughly and apply. Repellant must be used in the final coat only.

Main advantages of water repellant are:

1)      Due to repellency action, and water’s surface tension interaction, no water ingression is allowed.

2)      Useful for treating stone masonry surfaces also (SBWR-5000).

3)      Does Not effect aesthetics of surface.

4)      Does not permit algae or fungus growth, hence enhances life of cement paint 2-3 fold, also eliminates black algae patches, a must if the exterior finish is in white or light shades. Essential for hospital exteriors, pharmaceutical  industry, public buildings, hotels, etc.

5)      It is most economical, and requires no special skill.

Solvent-based Water Repellant is also available, most ideal for protection of Architectural monuments. SBWR–5000 can be applied directly to any surface requiring protection against acid rains, useful for marble monuments.

SBWR–5000 is also useful for protection against rain water seepage. It is in ready to use forms can be directly brush applied. If forms a clear Water-Repellent barrier. Also prevents algae-bacterial fouling of walls. SBWR–5000 is directly coated over the surface. Cracks/ crevices sealing may be carrieed out if required with Instaset 600.
