SUPER-PLASTICIZER
Theoretically for concrete,
12-15 kgs water is required for hydration per 50 kgs of cement. However, in
practice 20 to 25 kgs of water is used per bag of cement to achieve workability.
Due to
excess water following defects are noticed:
1.
Bleeding,
Segregation.
2.
Low
strength.
3.
Low
impermeability due to capillary formation by evaporation of water.
4.
Cracking and
shrinkage.
These
defects can be eliminated to a considerable extent by using our Super
Plasticizer.
1.
Increased workability:
Keeping water/ cement ratio constant, addition of Super Plasticizer
increases workability considerably and enables concrete to flow easily
into most intricately placed
pockets, eliminating honey
combing.
2.
Shrinkage & Cracks:
Use of Super Plasticizer enables use of lower water cement ratio, lower
cement contents, hence eliminating shrinkage and cracking considerably.
Besides lower w/c ratio
to a great extend eliminates segregation.
3.
Water Proofing:
Use of Super Plasticizer permits
casting of dense concrete by controlling water
cement ratio which ensures homogenous and monolithic matrix. This is a
very important feature of
this product, most useful particularly when casting basements, swimming
pools, terrace slabs, bridges
spans, etc.
4.
High Strength:
Super Plasticizer ensures
early high strength and high ultimate strength.
5.
Savings in cement:
Using Super Plasticizer considerable savings in cement can be made.
6.
If least cement is used to obtain optimum strength,
the heat of hydration is reduced to bare minimum, which further reduces cracks
due to heat of hydration, ultimately increase strength. Super Plasticizer is
free of Chlorides and Sulphides.
METHOD OF USE :
Mix dry
aggregates as usual. Add desired quantity of Super Plasticizer to 4/5 litres of
gauging
water. Mix
thoroughly. Add this to the concrete.
