SHUTTER COAT FOR WOOD & METAL

Shuttering  plywoods  are  generally  found  to  work  well  for  the  initial  of 1-2 cycles. Thereafter it is observed  that  concrete  bonds to wood and streaks of wood come off from plywoods reducing its life considerably. Friction between shuttering ply surface & flowing concrete affect concrete filling leading to voids in concrete unsatisfactory  surface finish.

Although the plywood is termite resistant and water proof. Many of its binders are degraded by shuttering oil. The termite resistance solution dissolve in water and washes away. Degradation due to ultra violet radiation accelerates further deterioration and shuttering materials life is shortened.

Generally spent engine oils are sometimes used. However high pH values associated with these oils damage the wood fibres as well as binders used in manufacture of plywood, and reduce its life considerably. If spent engine oil is used, it is found adhering to concrete surface after de shuttering. The presence of oil film on concrete surface makes plastering expensive & difficult.

Concrete admixtures are used extensively to increase cohesiveness of concrete, to enhance bonding properties to steel reinforcements. These concrete–admixture tend to adhere to shuttering material. Hence the shuttering  material protection for increased life becomes more essential.

Our Shutter-Coat is a unique formulation with pH neutral, neither acidic nor basic, hence does not degrade binders in plywood nor does it effect the wood fiber, in fact it protects wood fibers. It has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties hence eliminate bacterial and algae fouling.

Immediately after deshuttering, scrub the shuttering board surface with coir, cloth. Apply two coats Shutter Coat. Either by brush or cloth swab. This procedure is better than treating shuttering material just before use. It protects shuttering ply-wood in between use cycles, and also increases its life.

Shutter Coat can be used for metal plate also. Special grade of Shutter Coat available for M.S. plates shuttering material. Provides passivating film to M.S. surface, enhances life of M.S. plates reduces metallic oxidation & rusting.

 1)      Easy release, and no degradation of ply due to sticky concrete.

2)      Protection of ply from algae and bacterial fouling.

3)      Increase life of shuttering material by 2-3 fold.

4)      Subsequent coatings augment earlier coating, hence ensure smooth release of ply from concrete as the plywood ages.

5)      Enchances surface finish, makes the ply-wood surface smooth, hence increasing U.V. radiation

       reflection.

6)      Reduces friction between flowing concrete and ply surfaces, hence reducing surface

honey combining. Gives smooth concrete finish.

7)      Reduces plastering cost.

Method of use: Stir contents in Shutter-coat container thoroughly. Mix 3 litre water with 1 kgs of Shutter-Coat. Apply with clean brush over the surface exposed to concrete. For new ply-woods apply on all sides. Clean surface thoroughly with a coir-ball of used coir ropes and clean cloth prior to coating Shutter Coat.

Packing: 25 kgs, 35 kgs and 50 kgs.
