PIPE JOINT SEALER

 Cast Iron  Pipe Joints were previously sealed with lead wool, which would provide inner water  tight  seal,  last  for  years, would guarantee that joints would never leak. Due to prohibitive cost of lead wool it is now seldom used. 

The  cast  iron  pipe  joints  in  sunken portion are presently plugged by a plumber. The plumber  takes  some  cement,  some sand,  little water,  prepares mortar & pushes this mortar  in  the  joint.  This  mortar  pushed  into  Pipe  Joint  is  never  cured, it does not develop  its  full strength, shinks & cracks leading to profuse joint leakage, if this joint is in sunken portion, it leads to profuse seepage in ceiling below. 

Pipe Joint Sealer is specially factory prepared mortar using controlled granulometry raw materials,  with  necessary  plasticizer  for  high  fluidity and adequate hygroscopicity to ensure  complete  hydration without curing. Pipe Joint Sealer expands on setting hence seals  the  joints  completely  &  permanently  it  also  provides  mild  resistance  to acid alkaline  corrosion  hence  ensuring  the  pipe  joint  sealed  with   Pipe  Joint  Sealer  is completely  plugged  &  does  not  allow  water  seepage ,  this  features is most vital for C.I. Joints in Sunken portion. 

Clean  the joint to be plugged. Merely mix 100- 200 ml water with Pipe Joint Sealer, the plasticizers in  Pipe  Joint  Sealer,  ensure  maximum  flow  &  penetration  of Pipe Joint Sealer  into  the  joint.  The hygroscopic constituents retain moisture & ensure complete development of strength, no shrinkage and no cracks, ensure joint is completely sealed or plugged. 

Pipe  Joint  Sealer  is available in convenient to use ½ kgs packs, one pack is sufficient for 1-2 joints depending on the annular- joint-space to be plugged.
