METAL CLEAN

Metal Clean is formulated to clean metallic surfaces of scales, formed on the surface during manufacturing stage and rust formed on the surface during storage. 

The metallic surface when treated with protective red oxide paint must be free of scales and rust. Since rust and scales are flaky in nature, it is likely  that  rust  and scale flakes could detach and expose further the metallic surface to corrosion, defeating the purpose of red oxide paint protection. 

Metal Clean is meant for removing scales and rust on iron surface as well as iron surface coated with primer or painted surface. It could be done before iron members are used for fabrication, or after fabrication or on primer-coated surface or painted surface exhibiting localised protection failures.  

Metal Clean is a unique formulation, it requires no rinsing prior to  treatment, rinse the surface 1/2 hour after treatment to remove traces of treatment, The treatment comprises of merely brush coating the surface as described below. Chances of hydrogen embattlement are completely eliminated in this unique formulation.   

Method of use:

Wire-brush-scrub the surface, mix water and Metal-clean in 1:1 or 2:1 proportion, for densely rusted surface use metal-clean directly. Apply one coat of Metal Clean on the surface, wait for ½ - 1 hour, allow Metal Clean to dry completely over the surface. Rinse the surface. The surface is now cleaned and protected. 

Clean the dry surface thoroughly with dry mop, the surface is now passivated and ready to receive red-oxide primer or paint. The passivated iron surface shows high resistance to rusting on exposure to environs. This passivated surface has also high bonding to paints.

Metal Clean degreases, de-rusts, de-scales and passivatees the iron surface treated by forming a phosphate film on the surface. Phosphate iron surface shows better and lasting bond to red oxide paints, which is commonly used for iron surface coating. 

Caution:

Metal-Clean  has  pH 5-6, viscosity b-4 Ford cup - 9 seconds. Care should be taken when used,  eyes should  be protected, It should be applied under properly ventilated conditions. Avoid tobacco mixing on palms when using Metal Clean. 

Use ordinary paint brush to coat over the iron surface to be treated, 400 sq.ft. of iron can be treated with one litre of Metal-Clean.
