HYCRETE
– RJ 608
Cement plus water slurry is commonly applied on old surface before pouring new concrete on this surface. For ceiling plaster cement water slurry is spread on the ceiling before spreading plaster mortar. For lifting vertical RCC members, the lift height is determined by dimensions of the shuttering plates. Before pouring concrete into the new lift, cement water slurry is spread over the earlier concrete surface, which is to receive the new concrete.
In all
these cases the cement, water slurry is intended to wet the earlier surface. To
provide cohesion between earlier concrete & fresh concrete being poured, to
ensure that bonding between the two concrete is firm & ensure impermeability
to water in case of vertical RCC members, particularly if the vertical RCC
members form part of water retention portion of the RCC structures. The cement
water Slurry also eliminates to a large extent the differential co-efficient
between the two concrete allowing both the matrixes to develop uniformity &
homogeneity across the joint.
Water
has specific surface tension, which is influenced by presence of impurities. The
surface tension of water does not permit complete wetting of the surface, with
the result aforesaid criteria for using cement-water slurry is not satisfied. In
case of ceiling this results in large throwback, huge wastage of dry cement,
large wastage of labour. For R.C.C. lifts. Cold set cracks appear & water
tightness is lost, homogeneity & uniformity is not achieved with defects
& disadvantages.
Hycrete
RJ – 608 is a special formulation designed to eliminate these disadvantages.
Hycrete RJ – 608 reduces water-surface-tension enabling it to wet the entire
surface over which the cement slurry is being applied. It penetrates, every
cavity, big, small, microscopic & sub- microscopic, Ensuring complete
wetting of the earlier surface which is to receive new concrete or cement mortar
hence ensuring homogeneity, eliminating cold set cracks, ensuring complete
impermeability.
Hycrete
RJ – 608 is a must for basements, swimming pools, aqueducts, water tanks, any
water retention structure.
Mix 3
kgs cement, 5 ltr water & 200 ml Hycrete RJ - 608. Stir thoroughly. Spread
it on the surface, which is to receive new concrete or cement mortar. This
slurry must be spread just before placing the new concrete or new mortar. The
spreading of this slurry may be achieved by brush coating or merely by
sprinkling liberally to ensure entire surface is covered completely.
