BLOCK MASTER

BLOCK MASTER

METHOD

ADVANTAGES

COST

Concrete masonery blocks are  most economical, These blocks are made of cement, sand, grit  & dust.

Mix all aggregates as usual.

Add 200 ml Block Makers to gauging  water per bag of  Cement.

1.Cement upto 7 - 8% gives excellent results.

2.Dust upto 10%-15% yield  excellent finish and high      impermeability without loss of strength.

Price of Block Maker in 200 ltrs packing Rs.52.00 per      litre.

Dosage 200ml per bag of  cement.    Cost of 200ml block master Rs.10.40 Cost per block is taken at     Rs.7.00

Increase in cement and grit  give high strength. For high  inpermeability high dust       content is necessary. But       increasing dust give higher   impermeability, beter finish and reduces strength.

Cast blocks as usual.

 3.Strength of 90% - 100%  within 7 - 10 days.                                                         4.No loss of blocks either  i) In the casting stage or

ii) after 24 hours.

iii) after 7-8 days curing

Normal breakages of 3-5 blocks per 28-30 blocks i.e.10% - 16.6%.       per1,00,000 blocks 10,000.00   to 16000 blocks  break   i.e. for 1,00,000 blocks    Rs.70000.00-Rs.1,16,200.00  worth of blocks are lost. Quantity of Block Master  required for 1,00,000 blocks @ 29 blocks per bag   of cement i.e.689 ltrs.

Cost of 689 Ltr.Block Master @ Rs.54 per litre   Rs.37206.00.

When mesonary work is on, blocks get hardly 7-8 days    curing hance leading to high breakages.

Hence savings of Rs.70,000  to Rs.1,16,200 if Rs.37206  worth of Block Master is used.

28 - 30 blocks are made from one bag of cement hence breakages of 3-5 blocks mean 10% to 16.6% loss.Due to       inadequate curing block  strength is low.

5.The blocks are water proof   and exhibit high                     impermeability due to Block  Master.

6.Chhal upto 10 - 15& can be used which reduces block       cost by 10 - 15%.

All these disadvantages can be  overcome by using 200 ml Block  Maker with cement upto 8-9%   which give 90-100% strength on   7-10 days curing.

Besides chhal is available in           aboundance, chhal upto 10 - 15 %   can be used without affecting  strength.Hence block cost        reduced by 10% - 15% since cost   of chhal is taken as nil.

It is possible to use upto 10%  flyash with Block Master.

Besides cost of blocks          reduced by 10 - 15% i.e by   Rs.70,000 to Rs.1,,05,000.00

i.e. total savings of  Rs.1,40,000 to Rs.2,21,200 if Rs.37,206 worth of  Block Master is used.
