(A.E.A.) INTRAIR 120 N
Intrair
120 N is air entraining agent. It is chloride and sulphate free liquid admixture
for cement mortars, most useful for mass concreting where concrete
impermeability is induced by air entrainment, must for areas of mass concreting,
dams, reservoirs, pre-cast concrete etc.
Addition
of Intrair 120 N to the cement mortar improves workability. Since wetting
properties are enhanced cohesion and plasticity is increased con-currently
bleeding and segregation is
reduced,
leading to increased, strength. The increased strength off-sets loss of strength
due to air entrainment.
Due to
increase in workability honey combing is eliminate ensuring monolithic and
homogenous concrete.
The
air entrainment breaks capillary channels hence improving impermeability.
Intrair 120 N imparts increased resistance to alkaline salt attacks, resists
erosion due to sulphate attack, and
shows considerable resistance to attack of wide spectrum of chemicals.
Intrair
120 N also exhibits resistance to freeze and thaw conditions hence can be used
to concrete in sub zero temperature.
150-200
ml per bag of Intrair 120 N should be added to gauging water and mixed with the
concrete mix. It can be used with oridinary portland cement, or pozzolona
cement.
It is
mandatory that trial mixes must be made to establish dosage, and establish
output parameters to input. The output parameters will be effected with dosage,
type to cement, mix design, size of aggregates, type of aggregate, water cement
ratio, and ambient conditions.
It
would be imperative to establish workability and volume by controlling water and
size distribution of sand and dust, if dust, fly ash is added for design mix.
Site trials are essential.
